I use an 8Gb drive fine lol

Litos the problem is transmac for some reason only makes a 1.5Gb partition on HFS+

I you can get quick access to a friends mac and format it there.

Or download Gparted ISO and use that. I use it all the time when setting up Linux partitions.
Code: Select allhttp://gparted.sourceforge.net/

That would work. I forgot Linux can read HFS+ partitions. Make sure it's formatted with GUID partition scheme.

Did you format to hfs+ in gparted? Once that's done right click the USB in transmac and restore with disk image.

Sorry yes that's the option. Not sure why it work like that. It's how I make them if I break the OS X install. I have an 8GB HP v190t

What version of transmac you using by chance ? I never had much success using it to do formats or making a bootable usb. I want to think i used Gparted like someone mentioned. I do have transmac on an old windows box that i dont use, just in case, but heck . I never use it much.

Let me know, i can fiddle around and see where your clicking something incorrectly possibly. I always used a 16gb stick though. I know they say 8gb is enough, but i have seen some when formatted only be 7gb barely, most are closer to 8gb though .
