My old XFX 6600 powered hackintosh died and i havent successfully been able to get one to work in VMware correctly. So off i went and bought some parts.
Its I7 based platform which i havent done, but it should work once i get it figured out.
I will post pics and updates as i can.
here is a list of parts.
Case
Mobo
Memory x 2
OS
CPU
SSD
DVD
HD
Video
PSU
Yeah dont give me grief, i bought an actual copy of Max OS lol...
Ok i pulled up the case and opened it up... nice room, has cutout for CPU cooler
Next I unpacked the mobo and pulled off the plastic wrapping on the heatsinks
Then i installed the CPU / Cooler and only 2 Ram Chips for 4 Gig , for now ( only want 4 gig installed while building a hackintosh.
Mobo heatsinks on things are cool... see this one
Lettering on Mobo is kinda cool as well. Sorry for crappy pics... my camera sucks
Nice pic of ram slots... will be putting in 12 Gig total later notice the leds to the left for testing
Ok i installed the Video Card and PSU in the bottom... love bottom mounted PSU.. makes case more stable
Completed spaghetti factory for now, i will clean it up later once i decide if im gonna stick with this mobo or not
I do have SnowLeopard installed and updated, tweaked etc, but i have a couple bugs im trying to work thru.
If i cant work it out, i will swap out mobo for a Gigabyte Assassin or UD5 i have and try that. Gigabyte mobo's are supposedly easier to work with.
I will post updates when i can on anything i do etc.
Thanks Gang
