I can't show a video preview about my tweaked Logon Screen but here's my modified files for empty Logon Screen:

Modified files:
• imageres.dll
• wininit.exe.mui (en-US only!)
• winlogon.exe.mui (en-US only!)

Taken from:
• Windows 7 Professional x64 SP1 - 6.1.7601

Modified with:
• Resource Hacker

What's modified:
• Removed Windows Startup Sound (Wave)
• Removed all messages from Logon Screen (such as Welcome and Shutting down...)
• Removed rotary image a.k.a spinning wheel of death image

How to install:
1. Download all the files below
2. First rename your default files to dll.bak
3. Copy/paste wininit.exe.mui and winlogon.exe.mui files here: C:\Windows\System32\en-US
4. Copy/paste imageres.dll file here: C:\Windows\System32
5. Restart your computer to make sure all the changes will take effect

Download:

NOTE:
All the files tested by me.

Screenshots/description are must. No one will ever try these things it if they don't see it first.

Sorry but i don't see the point of this. :humk:

What's are benefits of doing that apart of empty logon screen? Which is still there, right?
Does it logs faster then with images and messages?
And files are what?
-32bit or 64bit?
-SP1 or not?
-Which versions of files 6.1.7601.17514 or 6.1.7600.16385?

You should make a note what are risks of doing that.
Will you take responsibility for crashing other peoples systems?

[strike]MSCONFIG>BOOT>NO GUI BOOT will remove all of that and also speed up the boot process on SSDs.[/strike]

Ignore my post if you mean the screen where you type your username and password then my info is of no help at all lol. Can you make en-GB files as well. I can't use en_US on a UK system. I want to to test this to see what it's all about.

I can ;-) Give me few minutes.

I need these files from your computer:

wininit.exe.mui
winlogon.exe.mui
imageres.dll

Those 2 first files should be here:

C:\Windows\System32\en-GB

And that last one should be here:

C:\Windows\System32

PS: I'm not sure if default imageres.dll works in every language tho...

I haven't got a en-GB folder in system32 or syswow64. Maybe I can use en-US. imagres should be universal.

Edit: I used the en-US files and replaced the ones in the folder of the same name. No login screen
