I think I have my mind made up about the new components going into my new PC the only thing I cannot decide upon is a monitor.

I can get a brand new AOC i2769Vm 27" IPS 1080p for around £200.

The other option is to go for a South Korean 27" 2560x1440 IPS or PLS for roughly the same price. I have read reviews but they are either good or bad and none really give info about the longevity of the monitors.

This QNIX QX2710 LED Evolution 2 27 inch Samsung PLS Monitor looks tempting.

As does this MONEX M27QSM 2560x1440 QHD SAMSUNG PLS.

Just want to know if any tweakers have experience of the South Korean Monitors or should I just stick with the AOC?

Got this one for almost three years. Still same as when was new.
And it's on about 12-16 hours every single day.

So as far as i'm concerned South Koreans are good buy.

Specs

I want to go bigger than the 23" Samsung (va panel) model I have now. It's getting on a bit in years and my eyes are not getting any younger lol. The thing that worries me most about buying a no name brand from S Korea is if it goes wrong.

Catleap, Qnix, Crossover and Monex seem to be panels that users are reviewing with mixed results.

I too have a samsung syncmaster.Although I am partial to samsung products ,I have had no problems with mine . In my opinion, stick with the samsung, at least you KNOW what you are getting.

32" Tesco own Tecknica. I would recommend them BigB. Mine is constantly on. Its used for the PC and the Xbox and no colour burn, dead pixels ect. Plus side is they are cheap.

if youre building a whole new system, why not go for broke and get one of the new 4k displays? they have come down in price a bit, found this on amazon, DELL 28 inch Ultra HD 4K Monitor $700 is a really good deal for that size

dont buy a Catleap or Crossover... iv owned a Catleap, hated it. and iv never heard anything positive about Crossover.

Qnix and Monex on the other hand, while i havent personally owned either brand, iv heard good things, mostly about Qnix.

I just went thru this before Christmas, i ended up getting 4 new 27in Asus monitors for 169 or 179 $ off newegg special i think. I did test some of the South Korean ones not long ago, some flicker or back backbleed from the leds. if you can look at it before you buy that would be ideal.

I eventually came to a decision and decided to go for my original choice. The AOC i2769Vm was within my budget for my new build. I would liked to have gone for a 2560x1440 screen but couldn't justify the cost of buying a trusted name or risking a budget South Korean model.

@Kine - If I could afford three r9 290X or GTX 780 Ti then 4K would be an option . My arbitrary budget for my new system was £750 GBP. I will post the rest of the specifications when all the bits arrive.
